Kite is an AI assistant and never a doctor. It does not diagnose, and it is not monitored in real time. For an emergency call 911. In a mental health crisis, call or text 988.

The Kite companion app

The conversation lives in iMessage. The app is the piece that gets your Apple Health, Calendar, and Reminders history to Kite and keeps it fresh, so it can text you about your own numbers.

Signing in

Sign in with the same phone number you text Kite from. The 6-digit code arrives in your Kite conversation in Messages, not as a separate text from an unknown number, so check that thread.

Kite sends one code per minute. If you tap resend and nothing arrives, wait a minute and try again. If the app says it cannot find an account, that number has never texted Kite: tap the link on that screen to start the conversation, then sign in.

Connecting Health, Calendar, and Reminders

Setup asks for each one separately. Turn on what you are comfortable with and skip the rest, setup still finishes. Health needs a real iPhone, since Apple Health does not exist on the simulator.

If you said no to a permission and want it back, iOS will not ask again, so change it in Settings:

  • Health: Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Kite, then turn on the categories you want to share.
  • Calendar and Reminders: Settings > Kite, then switch each one on. The app also has an Open Settings button next to any permission it cannot use.

What syncs, and when

The first import covers your last 90 days and takes a minute or two. Health brings sleep, heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, steps, distance, active energy, exercise minutes, workouts, weight, and mindful minutes. Calendar brings events from the last 90 days through the next 30, with titles and locations encrypted at rest. Reminders brings your open ones plus what you finished in the last 90 days.

After that it refreshes on its own: a daily background sync, plus a catch-up whenever you open the app. The status screen shows the count per source and the last sync time, and pulling down on it syncs right away.

Your snapshot

When the first import finishes, Kite reads it and texts you the snapshot in iMessage. That can take a few minutes, so head back to Messages instead of waiting on the app.

You can ask for it any time after that. Text Kite “what did you notice about me” and it walks you through what your data shows. If the status screen says a snapshot failed, pull down to sync and it tries again.

Your data and your privacy

What Kite collects

Only what you agree to. You consent when you sign in, each data source is its own switch, and anything you skip is never read. Kite also remembers the health details you tell it in the conversation, so you do not have to repeat yourself.

Your information is never sold, never used for ads, and never used to train generalized AI models.

How it is protected

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, with extra encryption on especially sensitive items such as calendar titles and locations and connected-account tokens. Access is limited to the team members who need it to run and support the service, under access controls and logging.

Disconnecting the app

On the status screen, tap Disconnect this device. That revokes the device, and Kite stops receiving new data from that phone. Your conversation in iMessage keeps working exactly as before.

Deleting your data

Text DELETE to Kite, on its own, and we erase your messages, health memory, saved details, photos, logs, reminders, and calendar events, and direct our service providers to delete their copies too. You can also ask us at privacy@heykite.app.

The full policies

Privacy Policy covers what we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it, and your rights. Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy is the dedicated health-data policy. Terms of Service governs your use of Kite, and SMS Terms covers the messaging program.
